Cracked Heels in Season

The number of people with cracked heels in the winter is significantly increased as the air is less humid. This lack of moisture in the the air can directly affect the level of moisture in your skin. But there are some that battle the problem of dry, cracked heels year round. There are various home remedies that may prove helpful in trying to rid yourself of this issue. The key to any remedy is moisturizing the skin and then making sure the moisture is locked in. Be sure to stay hydrated and apply lotion to the affected area at least once a day. If your heels are bleeding, treat with antibiotic ointment and refrain from moisturizing until properly healed. If the bleeding is frequent or persistent, consult with a doctor.

Change in Diet
Eating healthy with a well-balanced diet will give the skin a fresh and radiant look. Your body responds to the kinds of food you ingest. Omega-3 fatty acids and zinc supplements can also revitalize skin tissue.
